This month has been full of excitement! My sister announced her engagement. I have 2 younger sisters, and all 3 of us have birthdays in February! This is the first month I made over $100 online. Not to mention this month is the shortest month of all. However none of these are excuses to why I let my goals slip this month. The reason I only met some of my goals is because my priorities changed.
3 steps to succeed at your goals:
- Choose a goal that aligns to your priorities.
- Start small. Set small goals with a short time frame if you are new to goal setting.
- Grace. Sometimes priorities change, give yourself the grace to live as it comes, accept that even the best plans can change for even better reasons.
In January I chose to practice yoga everyday via a YouTube series called Yoga Revolution by Yoga with Adriene. I completed this goal like a breeze because it aligned with my priorities for the month. Yoga is my exercise of choice, and it gave me quiet time to myself. For me, this goal was the best choice I could have made to start the year focused on my own inner and outer strength.
My February goals however have not all been met. I was able to work for several days at the beginning of the month on my online store, creating teaching materials. I uploaded 10 new products in 1 week! Exceeding the amount of products I would have created if I had done 2 a week like I had set a goal for, I burnt out that flame and haven’t created any new products since then. And I am completely ok with that! The other 2 goals I set were about blogging consistently. I have thought a lot about what to write but life has been so full and busy sitting down to write lost priority to living in the moment. All in all it was a shift in priority that slowed me down this month.
This month my priority was to spend time with my family. My sister came home to choose a wedding dress and make a few plans for her wedding. My family will always come first. Even if my goals get pushed off the calendar, I can always put them back on! But family is first.
