After interning at the dairy, I moved back home. I have spent months thinking of how to update my blog with what I have been up to but I couldn’t think of what to say. I always think I have to write a long story with some kind of lesson learned at the end. That thinking has kept me away. Trying to over complicate something so simple, writing my story. So what have I been up to?
Lately, I have been working at The Farm in Snohomish. In May I helped lead Spring Planting field trips. This summer I am working weekdays on the wedding side of the farm. Landscaping and setting up for weddings. Last week I was one of the first weddings I have been to since Michelle’s wedding two years ago.
It was probably one of the sweetest events I have witnessed. My mom’s best friend from high school’s daughter got married. The last time I knew Shannon well was before we were even old enough to go to school. We used to sing and dance around the house dressed like Snow White. Now she is grown up, still has a love for singing, Disney, with eyes brighter than a princess, and when she walked down the aisle nothing could have been sweeter than the way Hayden looked back at her.
Each week this summer I have set up for one or more weddings, each week decorations are brought in and the space is transformed. They are always different. Little details that make each wedding different. Just like each love is different. People connect because of little things they have in common, and it is in the little things that they are held together.
